In Her Own Words
My formative musical years were the 1980s and 1990s, but I grew up with a very musical mother, and the music of my youth is the music of the 60s and 70s. The Beatles were omnipresent in my life, and remain so to this day.
I love the power and flexibility that modern digital production affords us as artists, but I have a special place in my heart for the bold recordings made in the era of analog tape. There’s often magic to be found in the act of having to make a choice, to get it right on the mic (not in the edit), and work creatively within physical limits.
My approach to your music is to combine the best of the old with the best of the new. Be bold, make choices, and embrace the imperfections that make the records I love most sound so special, while allowing your recordings to stand shoulder to shoulder with modern productions.
I love working in more or less any genre - I once recorded and mixed a Japanese-language hip-hop EP - but I have a special place in my heart for alternative and indie rock.
